Hi! My name is Katherine, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a specialization in trauma recovery.
Trauma can be a deeply complex experience. It's not always tied to a single event but can affect every area of life, shaping how we view ourselves, our relationships, culture, spirituality, sense of purpose, and the greater world around us.
Symptoms that often bring people into therapy in the wake of trauma may include increased depression, anxiety, anger, or even feeling numb and detached. I am comfortable meeting you where you are on your journey and I will partner with you in finding the right tools to help you move forward.
I have experience working across age groups in crisis centers, non-profits, and universities facilitating individual and group therapy. I am certified in multiple evidence-based trauma and cognitive behavioral based modalities, and I pride myself in tailoring my approach to meet your specific needs.
Together we will work to set meaningful goals by assessing your unique situation and by identifying methods that best support your healing process; this may include the inclusion of mindfulness, art, and other activities.
One of the most valuable lessons I have learned while helping clients work through trauma is that just as no two people learn in the same way, no two people heal the same way. I offer a personalized, strengths-driven approach to care, and commit to partnering with you in finding the right tools for your unique journey towards healing and self discovery.
If you're ready to begin, i'm here to meet you where you are and partner with you on your path to healing
I am certified and trained in multiple trauma focused modalities such as CPT, and TF-CBT and am happy to speak to you in more detail on these approaches. That being said I do not believe that there is a one size fits all approach to therapy. I will often use a blended approach to treatment that can be customized to you. This may include the use creative expressions, mindfulness, pshycoeducation and other approaches that can be incorporated into your experience. Please do not hesitate to ask about any intervention utilized and the why behind any proposed approach to treatment.
So much of healing in therapy lies within the therapeutic relationship itself. It is my hope that you feel safe to explore the circumstances that brought you into therapy, and experiment with new tools and understanding.
I offer therapy sessions online via video. Please email me for my current schedule availability.
